Abstract: The goal of this project is to provide clinical information on a more immediate basis than is presently available to the involved health care personnel during the prehospital and emergency critical care transport processes, and to archive the data in a central database that is immediately available for evaluation. Clinically useful, 'real time' information will be provided to flight/transport crews and other involved health care personnel. This will be an important step towards implementing a medical transport program electronic medical record and, ultimately, other activities such as the preregistration of the patient during the transport process. Enthusiasm for the availability of this new tool has been expressed not only at the local level but also at the State, national and international levels.
